The Fellside Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was established in the summer of 2018, continuing the legacy of the former ‘Friends of Fellside’ group. The PTA plays a vital role in supporting the school and fostering a close-knit community among parents, teachers, and pupils. Through various initiatives and activities, the PTA aims to enhance the educational experience at Fellside Primary, ensuring that every child benefits from a well-rounded learning environment.

A UK PTA typically serves as a bridge between parents, teachers, and the school, working collaboratively to improve the school experience for pupils. The Fellside PTA is no exception. By organising events and fundraising activities, the PTA raises money to fund valuable resources that are not always provided by the school’s budget. This could range from playground equipment and classroom resources to extracurricular activities that enrich the school’s curriculum. Beyond financial support, the PTA also focuses on creating a positive, inclusive school culture by fostering strong relationships between families, staff, and the wider school community.

At Fellside, the PTA plays a key role in the social life of the school, organising events such as school fairs, discos, and themed fundraising activities. These events not only raise funds but also bring families together, strengthening the bond between home and school. The PTA also engages in other activities, such as organising parent forums and facilitating volunteer opportunities, which ensure that parents have a voice and an active role in shaping their children’s education.

The PTA also uses social media to engage with parents and keep them informed about upcoming events and ways they can get involved. The Fellside PTA Committee is made up of dedicated parent volunteers who work closely with the school’s staff to ensure the success of all PTA initiatives. Each committee member brings their own skills and enthusiasm, helping to steer the organisation’s efforts.  Together, they coordinate events, manage funds, and keep parents connected to the school’s mission.
