What a way to finish the school year!
On the final day of term, we held our first ever Fellside Fest — and what a day it was!
The atmosphere was electric from the moment the children arrived, with a whole day packed full of activities, entertainment, creativity and, most importantly, fun.
And we think the children’s verdict says it all. One child told us it was:
“The best day of my life so far!”
We think that’s a pretty good review!
Something for everyone
There was plenty going on throughout the day, with different activities for all ages.
Flaming Lily Circus joined us with Little T (aka Tanya), who was absolutely brilliant throughout the day. The children loved getting involved with the circus skills, and the giant bubbles were a huge hit!
Our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children danced their socks off at the disco with Bounce North East, while our Key Stage 2 children went completely bonkers at the bingo before getting their own chance to boogie — including a few teachers joining in!
There was also plenty of creativity, with children making some gorgeous crafts to take home, while our Zen Zone gave anyone who needed it a chance to take five minutes, have a breather and recharge during the excitement.
And, of course, no summer celebration would be complete without ice cream! 🍦
A huge thank you to Tony’s Ices Ponteland, who kept everyone cool with some seriously delicious ice creams and ice lollies.
Could Fellside Fest become an annual tradition?
We’d absolutely love for Fellside Fest to become a free annual tradition at Fellside, but making that happen will depend on two important things: fundraising and volunteers.
Putting on a whole-school, full-day event takes a huge amount of work behind the scenes. There was lots happening that you didn’t see on the day, from organising entertainment and activities to planning, fundraising, coordinating volunteers and making sure everything came together.
That’s why we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make our first Fellside Fest possible.
